JBA Haiti is a mission project of the Jacksonville Baptist Association in Jacksonville, Florida. This mission project was begun as a faith venture. We do not have this project in our annual budget; indeed the need is so great that our budget would never be large enough. Instead, we chose to trust God to lead His people to support what He began in 1998.

Today, JBA Haiti has grown to include a school, church and orphanage. We enlist monthly sponsors for the 130 children in our school and orphanage. Without JBA Haiti these children would not receive an education and most would suffer from hunger and malnutrition. For some of them, the meals they receive while at school are the only food they receive all day. Your monthly gift of $50 per month, provides a child with books, school supplies, food, medical care and workers/teachers to meet the basic needs of each child. The money does not go directly to the child, but instead is received in Jacksonville and placed into an operating funds account that can be drawn on in Haiti. It is from this account, that all of their needs are met.

In return, sponsors receive the name, picture and personal information about their child. Each sponsor also receives a monthly newsletter, called Haiti Happenings and regular e-mail updates. If a sponsor should choose to visit Haiti to meet their sponsored child in person, they will receive one week’s free room and board at the JBA Haiti facilities. This is a savings of $15 per day. We also, encourage sponsors to send letters to your child and small gifts for special occasions.
